Fulton County Commission Clerk Resigns to Take Position in New City of South Fulton

The City of South Fulton officially opened for business today, and their first hire is an experienced employee from Fulton County.

Mark Massey resigned as Clerk to the Fulton County Commission after holding the post for fourteen years.

Massey is now serving as Clerk for the City of South Fulton. His first day on the job came as the new municipality's mayor and city council were sworn in on April 30th.

Massey's role in the new city will be similar to his former position with Fulton County. He will serve as the record keeper of official acts taken by the South Fulton City Council. He will also publicize all meetings, along with their agendas, and ensure compliance with Georgia open meetings and open records laws.

Massey is a certified county and municipal clerk.
