Georgia State University Bans Hoverboards on Campus

Georgia State University (GSU) is the latest school to ban the popular hoverboards from campus grounds.

According to a posting on GSU's Facebook page, "Because of fire concerns, the use, possession or storage of hoverboards (self-balancing scooters, battery-operated scooters, hands-free Segways and other similar equipment) is prohibited in university-owned or managed buildings, including residence/dining halls. Residential students should not bring them to campus. They are not permitted in university housing."

An Associated Press report says at least twenty schools nationwide have banned or heavily restricted the use of the devices on campus.
