Atlanta Metro Studios On Pace for March 2016 Opening Date in Union City

It's been a year since demolition started on the Shannon Mall in Union City.

The shopping center's old buildings are now gone. Rising in its place is the first phase of Atlanta Metro Studios -- 134,000 square feet of sound stages, 60,000 square feet of production office and 50,000 square feet of mill (construction and flex space).

“As I said at the start of the old mall demolition late last year, we couldn’t be happier to have one of the largest studio facilities in Georgia call Union City home,” said Mayor Vince Williams. “It’s even more exciting now that the Atlanta Metro Studios team has delivered."

404 Studio Partners is the exclusive sales, marketing and operations management company for Atlanta Metro Studios.

The firm, founded by Ed Richardson and Brian Livesay, consists of film and television production professionals, including a former Turner Entertainment Group producer and the former President of Physical Production at Universal Studios.

“We have worked very closely with Mayor Vince Williams to engage local business owners in Union City," said Richardson. "Our ability to create a film community inside the great community of Union City will provide new opportunities for local businesses here and across South Fulton, as well as for producers and film crews who benefit from the convenient access to restaurants, stores, hotels, banks, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and so much more. It’s a win, win for all involved.”

The first phase of Atlanta Metro Studios is on a fast track for an opening date in March 2016.
