Developer Submits Annexation Petition to Union City in Preparation for New Condo & Retail Center

The summer of annexation in unincorporated south Fulton County isn't over yet.

Another landowner has come forth with a petition to take their property into a nearby city.

Metro M3 Inc., want to take the 4.72 acres they own near South Fulton Parkway into Union City. And as usual, there is nothing Fulton County can do to stop the annexation. Staff in the Fulton County Planning and Community Services Department has found no basis upon which to file a valid objection to Metro M3's annexation request.

The Metro M3-owned land is currently wooded and vacant. Tax records show the property valued at $32,120. But that value could change if a development planned by Metro M3 moved forward.

Metro M3 wants to develop the property with three retail buildings and forty units of multifamily residential condominiums. A copy of the concept plan is pictured below:

Fulton County Commissioners are scheduled to vote on Metro M3's annexation petition Wednesday, 2 September 2015.
