Fulton County Schools Chief Applies for Superintendent Post in Palm Beach County, Florida

The Fulton County Board of Education may be searching for a new superintendent soon.

Dr. Robert Avossa, the county schools superintendent since 2011, is one of 72 individuals who applied to be superintendent of Palm Beach County schools, according to a report from the Sun-Sentinel [Travis (3 April 2015). "School Board members will review the applicants, and will select the finalists during a public meeting on Wednesday, April 8," reads a public notice posted on the Palm Beach County schools website. "The School Board is scheduled to interview the candidates during a public meeting on Thursday, April 16."

Other applicants include former State Schools Superintendent John Barge, former Atlanta Public Schools associate superintendent Timothy Gadson, and Liberty County, Georgia school superintendent Valya Lee.
