Fulton County Commission Vice Chair Calls for Review of Police Chief's Leadership

Crime.

It's a concern of law-abiding citizens across the nation.

In south Fulton County, crime is running rampant.

A 69-year-old woman was robbed while picking up groceries at the corner store. Between 24 January 2015 and 6 February 2015, seventeen burglaries in the Old National Highway community between Burdett Road and Old Bill Cook Road occurred; along with two vehicle thefts, a string of items being stolen from people's cars, and six assaults, according to CrimeReports.com.

Taxpayers in these communities expect their local police department to be hard at work fighting crime. But recent reports from Fox 5 Atlanta indicate Fulton County Police Chief Cassandra Jones is moonlighting on the job [Russell (24 February 2015). Fulton County Commission Vice Chair Liz Hausmann is concerned.

"Like many Fulton County residents, I was surprised by the media report of Fulton County Police Chief Cassandra Jones' flexible work arrangements," Hausmann said. "These allegations raise many questions about professional judgment and leadership in the Police Department and cannot be ignored.

"Therefore, I am requesting a full investigation of the management of FCPD to ensure that the citizens of Fulton County, along with our police officers, are receiving the level of commitment we expect and deserve."
