Taxpayers in Atlanta & North Fulton Help Pay for Sidewalk Project in South Fulton

It is no secret that unincorporated south Fulton County is drowning in a sea of red ink.

The recently adopted FY2015 budget for south Fulton shows $45,796,219 in revenues and $49,383,156 in expenses, leaving a deficit of $3,586,937.

Given that sobering reality, it's understandable why south Fulton would need a little help from the entire county to pay for long-overdue public works projects.

At its 21 January 2015 meeting, the Fulton County Commission unanimously approved an additional $300,000 for a sidewalk project on Enon Road. The money came from the general fund, which includes tax dollars collected from all Fulton County taxpayers regardless of where they live.

Enon Road, in south Fulton, stretches from Campbelton Road to Stonewall Tell Road.
