Georgia Ranks 10th in U.S. for Number of Hybrid Vehicles on the Road

A new study by R.L. Polk and Company, the parent of vehicle history website CarFax, says Georgia is one of the nation's leaders in having hybrids on the road.

According to the Polk report, 2,826,885 hybrid passenger vehicles are registered in the United States. Georgia has 76,168 registered hybrid cars, placing it tenth in the nation. California has the most registered hybrids, with 698,560.

Polk's analysis also says that in the 2010-2013 period, hybrid sales increased by 64.5 percent across the nation.

The Polk study is based on data that includes the registration statistics of all passenger vehicles – cars, SUVS, pickup trucks and vans – that were compiled by R.L. Polk and Company in all 50 states and the District of Columbia through 31 December 2013.
