Women Voters Slightly Outnumber Men in Republican Primary After First Day of Early Voting

Data provided by the Georgia Secretary of State's office show that women outnumber men in the Republican primary after the first day of early voting.

As of 28 April 2014, 2,908 women have voted early in the Republican primary, compared to 2,672 men who pulled Republican primary ballots.

The third congressional district, represented by Republican Lynn Westmoreland, currently has the highest number of people who have voted early -- 1,117. The sixth congressional district, represented by Republican Tom Price, has the fewest number of early voters -- 249.

Overall, 9,590 people voted in advance of the 20 May 2014 primaries. 4,010 voters selected Democrat primary ballots, and 5,580 selected Republican ballots.
