The Fayette Citizen reports Georgia is about to enter Marvel's Phase Three in a very big way.
A London-based film and TV production guide publisher, KFTV.com, is reporting Jan. 15 that Marvel Comics’ Ant-Man will be the much anticipated blockbuster movie to start filming in May at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville.
The U.K-based film trade guide said that “Ant-Man” was first intended to be filmed at Pinewood’s London studio site, but was bumped by “the sheer volume of other major features moving in and filling the big studios to capacity.”

KFTV.com posits that Georgia's tax incentives to the film industry may have lured Marvel's Ant-Man to the state.
According to the state Department of Economic Development, the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act provides filmmakers with a 20% across the board, transferable flat tax credit with a minimum of $500,000 spent on qualified production and post production expenditures within Georgia; and an additional 10% tax credit if a production company includes an imbedded Georgia promotional logo in the qualified feature film.
Opening in January 2014, Pinewood Studios Atlanta will feature five sound stages totaling 100,000 square feet and 300,000 square feet of workshop and production office space.
Marvel's Ant-Man is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2015.
