Gun Control Group Politicizes McNair Shooting Even Before Parents Were Reunited With Their Kids

Someone wise once said, "There is a time and a place for everything."

Yesterday, a gunman fired shots at DeKalb County's McNair Elementary School. Luckily no students or staff were injured by gunfire, but that did not stop parents from rushing to the school to pick up their kids and make sure their precious little ones were safe.

While dozens of parents waited at a nearby Wal-Mart for their children to be delivered to them, a gun control group issued a press release politicizing an unfortunate event.

At 3:57PM, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America put out a statement that read in part, "This happens too often in America, where gun violence claims nearly eight children every day. We offer our support as the community deals with the lingering impact of gun violence, and we demand our members of Congress get back to work immediately on new and stronger gun laws to prevent senseless acts like these from continuing to occur in the future."

Regardless of your position on gun laws in the United States, surely you can agree that politicizing a school shooting while parents sit and wait to be reunited with their kids is wrong.

There is a time and a place for everything.

There is a time for politics. There is a time to have a debate on guns laws in America.

But there is also a time to remain silent. There is a time to show empathy. There is a time to allow parents to hug their kids a little tighter after a traumatic experience at school.

At 3:57PM, Tuesday, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America picked the wrong time to advance their cause.
