The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says Fulton County Commissioner Robb Pitts wants a promotion.
In an article published last week, AJC reporter David Wickert wrote, "Pitts is considering a challenge to Commission Chairman John Eaves, a fellow Democrat, next year."
Robb Pitts, however, says talk of him running against John Eaves is just speculation.
A statement from Pitts, released Monday, reads in part, "Let me be clear - I was elected in 2010 for a third, 4 year term to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, which will end on December 31, 2014. For the next 23 months my focus will continue to be on representing all of the people and constituencies of Fulton County, and any speculation on what may occur in the future is just that – speculation.
Notice, though, that Robb Pitts did not say he was absolutely not a candidate for Fulton County Commission Chair in 2014.
