Sunday Sales Began in Unincorporated South Fulton County September 1st

On July 31st, voters in Fulton County approved a referendum authorizing the sale of alcohol on Sundays between the hours of 12:30PM and 11:30PM.

The final, certified vote count was 107,609 for Sunday sales and 35,271 against.

The resolution authorizing Fulton County's Sunday Sales referendum also included the following language:

if more than one-half of the votes cast by the electors of Fulton County on the question of Sunday package sales by retailers of malt beverages, wine, and distilled spirits are for approval, such sales shall be authorized on Sundays between the hours of 12:30 P.M. and 11:30 P.M. effective September 1, 2012.

More than one-half of the votes cast by the electors of Fulton County on July 31st were for Sunday alcohol sales (75.31% to be exact), meaning that Sunday sales quietly became legal in Fulton County nineteen days ago.

It's not inconceivable to see how this little morsel of information was missed due to the unrelenting coverage of the 2012 presidential campaign.
