Gays Preach Tolerance, But Lecture Others Who Don't Share the Gay Point of View

Rarely do I venture into the realm of social issues like gay marriage and abortion.

The story of Chick-Fil-A is the story of ordinary people starting a business, growing that business, creating jobs with that business, stimulating the economy with that business, making some money off of that business, and then passing that business on to the next generation.
I see no point in continuing a discussion that's been going on for decades, without end.

However, today, I am making a rare foray into the land of social issues to point out a bit of hypocrisy coming from people who preach tolerance.

Recently, Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press, in an interview, "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit."

That fifteen-word sentence touched off a firestorm of criticism from the gay rights community; a community that, I might add, preaches tolerance at every juncture.

The gay rights community started hurling insults at Dan Cathy and Chick-Fil-A. They said Dan Cathy is a bigot. They said Chick-Fil-A practices discrimination. They called Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy everything but a child of God, simply because Dan Cathy said that he and his company is "very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit."

As I wrote earlier, the gays regularly preach tolerance. They say you should accept us and be tolerant of our alternative lifestyles. But in an ironic twist, the gays aren't very tolerant or accepting of those who don't share their viewpoints.

Because Dan Cathy is very much supportive of the family, the gays want to put Chick-Fil-A out of business. As you read this right now, the gays and their allies are organizing boycotts against Chick-Fil-A. The Mayor of Boston is blocking a Chick-Fil-A from opening up in his city. An Alderman in Chicago is attempting to stop Chick-Fil-A from opening in his district.

The gays and their allies are the ones who are supposed to be tolerant, but they aren't tolerating Dan Cathy and Chick-Fil-A. Why? Because Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy does not share the gays' point of view.

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee called a rainbow spade a rainbow spade.

Huckabee said, "Too often, those on the left make corporate statements to show support for same sex marriage, abortion, or profanity, but if Christians affirm traditional values, we’re considered homophobic, fundamentalists, hate-mongers, and intolerant."

Huckabee said, "A great American story is being smeared by vicious hate speech and intolerant bigotry from the left."

The Chick-Fil-A story is the American story. The story of Chick-Fil-A is the story of ordinary people starting a business, growing that business, creating jobs with that business, stimulating the economy with that business, making some money off of that business, and then passing that business on to the next generation.

I can support that, regardless of what the gay hypocrites on the left have to say about it.
