Rasmussen Reports: Romney Snatches Second from Santorum in Georgia

A new poll from Rasmussen Reports, conducted March 1st, shows former House Speaker Newt Gingrich still on pace to collect the most National Convention delegates from Georgia this Tuesday.

In a survey of 750 Likely Republican Primary Voters, Gingrich leads with 38%.

The battle for second place is close between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. A SurveyUSA poll conducted late last week showed Santorum leading Romney, 24% to 23%. The new Rasmussen Reports poll now shows Romney leading Santorum, 26% to 20%.

Rick Santorum is now on the verge of not being eligible for Republican National Convention delegates from Georgia.

State Republican Party rules say that a presidential candidate must receive at least 20% of the state-wide vote in order to win any at-large delegates.
