Proposed Public Service Commission Maps Released

Redistricting continues in Georgia as a new bill re-drawing Public Service Commission maps was filed with the Secretary of the Senate Friday.

Senate Bill 382, sponsored by state Senator David Shafer (R - Duluth), would make the proposed Public Service Commission (PSC) maps effective for the 2012 election. Districts 2, 3, and 5 would be on the ballot in November. Districts 1 and 4 would be on the ballot in 2014.

The current PSC map can be seen here. The map pictured below was drawn using the description of the five Public Service Commission (PSC) districts contained in S.B. 382:

The members of Georgia's Public Service Commission are elected statewide, but PSC members must live in the district they represent.
