I'm a State Republican Convention Delegate and I'm Undecided

A few months ago, I resigned my seat on the Georgia state Democratic committee and switched to the Republican Party.

Every election, Democrats run into the black community with claims that if the Republicans win on Tuesday, blacks will see a return to segregation on Wednesday and be back out in the fields picking cotton on Thursday.

Just over a month from now, the Georgia Republican Party will convene in Macon to elect officers for the next two years. I'm a delegate to that state GOP convention, which means that I have a say in the future of Georgia's Republican Party.

Georgia Republicans have a trio of candidates --Sue Everhart, Shawn Hanley, and Tricia Pridemore-- seeking the Party's top job. And I'm undecided on which candidate to vote for next month.

There can be no doubt that all three of these candidates are dedicated Republicans who have nothing but the Georgia Republican Party's best interests at heart. So it's not about the impeccable credentials that Sue, Shawn or Tricia possess that will win my support.

I've read the emails from all three candidates. I've heard about the endorsements that Sue, Shawn and Tricia have racked up. But endorsements and slick emails won't do it for me either.

Honestly, I'm looking for a candidate who has a plan to bring black folks back home to the GOP.

I don't like being an issue voter, but this is a big issue for me.

Black voters do themselves a disservice by blindly backing the Democrat Party, but a lot of this monolithic support from black folks is based on fear.

Every election, Democrats run into the black community with claims that if the Republicans win on Tuesday, blacks will see a return to segregation on Wednesday and be back out in the fields picking cotton on Thursday.

This is the reality. There's a lot of lies, half-truths and flat out fear-mongering entering the black community from the Democrat Party.

So what I want to know is what do Sue, Shawn, and Tricia plan on doing to combat these lies and scare tactics from the Democrat Party.

Here's my email address: amdwalker30349@gmail.com, I look forward to hearing from Sue, Shawn, Tricia or some of their educated supporters.
