Quote of the Day: the Georgia Unfiltered Readers edition

Tuesday afternoon, I received an email from one of this site's dedicated readers commenting on my lamentation that Georgia Democrats will likely stick with the status quo when they elect new officers next January.

Here's what the reader wrote:

When Napoleon was exiled and the old French aristocracy returned, someone (?) described them as having learned nothing and remembered everything. I think George Will may have quoted this recently but not sure. You can save this for after their election.

I did some research, and it was French diplomat Talleyrand who's purported to have said of the Bourbons' return to power, they have "learned nothing and remembered everything."

That just about sums it up. Thanks for reading.
