Chattanooga Times Free-Press Endorses Candidate Who Supports Rapists

If you've been keeping up with some of the tweets that have permeated the #gapolitics twitter feed, then you probably noticed that some of Democrat Roy Barnes' most ardent supporters have repeatedly claimed that Republican Nathan Deal supports rapists and is soft on rape.

I think it's safe to say that the Dept. of Hyperbole and Exaggerations has set up shop on Twitter.

Anywho, Sunday, the Chattanooga Times Free-Press endorsed a candidate for Georgia governor who allegedly supports rapists and is soft-on-rape. Sunday, the Chattanooga Times Free-Press endorsed Nathan Deal.

Few members of the U.S. House of Representatives over the past few years have been more reliably conservative than Republican Rep. Nathan Deal, whose district covers the nearby area of North Georgia.

Rep. Deal seeks to lower a range of state taxes to boost job growth. He is firmly against illegal immigration. He supports Georgia’s commonsense voter ID law, which makes sure only legal residents of Georgia may vote. He is pro-life. And as a member of Congress, he vigorously opposed the costly ObamaCare health “reform.”

Liberal former Gov. Barnes, by contrast, cites lots of things on which he would spend more money — from making hundreds of state buildings energy-efficient to raising teacher pay. But where would the money for bigger government come from in a time of recession?

We strongly support Rep. Deal’s election as a conservative governor for Georgia.

The dozens and dozens of Women Against Nathan Deal have planned a candlelight vigil in front of Deal campaign headquarters this week. I wonder if they'll then drive up to Chattanooga to protest the Times Free-Press.

Never underestimate the power of suburbanites who have too much time on their hands.
