Secretary of State Certifies August 10th Runoff Results

It is now official.

Nathan Deal won the Georgia Republican Party's nomination for governor by a margin of 2,437 votes.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp Wednesday certified the results for the August 10, 2010 General Primary Run-off Elections.

In certifying the results, Secretary of State Kemp affirmed that all counties have provided to the state the total votes tabulated for each candidate. Further, Secretary of State Kemp affirms that the returns are a true and correct tabulation of the certified returns received by this office from each county.

Additionally, with the certification, the time period for a candidate for state office to request a recount begins. Karen Handel, in her concession to Nathan Deal, said she would not ask for a recount.

And that, my friends, is that.
