Democrats, Republicans Start At Even Keel in State House Elections

The Secretary of State released the official list of candidates for the November 2nd General Election, and both parties have an even chance of taking control of the Georgia state House.

Sixty Democrats and sixty-two Republicans are unopposed on the ballot in November. That leaves fifty-eight --nearly a third-- state House seats contested by Democratic and Republican candidates.

In the Georgia Senate, the GOP has a stronger chance of maintaining control of that chamber. Twenty-three Republicans are unopposed, compared to just thirteen Democrats.
