Sanford Bishop's Seat Goes From Solid Democratic To Likely Democratic

The Cook Political Report has updated its race rating for the 2nd congressional district of Georgia, and the news isn't particularly good for incumbent Sanford Bishop.

As of July 22nd, Cook has downgraded the seat from "solidly Democratic" to "likely Democratic."

A "likely Democratic" rating from the Cook Political Report means that the seat is "not considered competitive at this point but has the potential to become engaged."

State Representative Mike Keown, the GOP nominee in the district, reports raising $368,750 and has $237,551 left in the bank. Congressman Bishop says his campaign raised $662,668 and has $404,594 in the bank.
