Quote of the Day: the Shirley Sherrod edition

"I need to get him down here with some regular folks to see how they live and how they get along. It might give him a better understanding on how to promote togetherness in this country."

-Former USDA official Shirley Sherrod commenting on her hopes of getting President Obama to come to Georgia.

These words by Shirley Sherrod seem to suggest that Obama has become insulated inside the Washington beltway and lost touch with everyday Americans. If that's the case, it is important for the President to get out of Washington before the regular folks come to the conclusion that he's out of touch and doesn't care about their needs or interests.
