Bonus Quote of the Day: the Cornel West edition

"He doesn't return my calls . . . I did 65 events for my dear brother Barack on the campaign trail but have not seen him since Martin Luther King Day 2008 . . . I couldn't even get a ticket to the inauguration for my mother."

-Princeton University professor Cornel West discussing Barack Obama's presidency in an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine.

West's comments remind me of an episode of the animated TV series The Boondocks where one of the main characters, Robert "Grandad" Freeman, sits dejected in his living room as the inauguration of Obama looms on the horizon.

Grandad Freeman Finds Out He's Not Important

If you haven't seen the full episode of The Boondocks, where the above clip comes from, just google "It's a Black President, Huey Freeman." The entire episode is quite entertaining.
