Jobs Still The Issue As Georgia Posts The Nation's 16th Highest Unemployment Rate

Although Georgia's unemployment rate dropped from 0.1% between the months of April and May, the state still ranks 16th in the nation for unemployment.

The Wall Street Journal compiled data detailing the unemployment numbers in the states. Nevada has the highest number of jobless with 14% unemployed. North Dakota has the lowest number of jobless with 3.6%[Izzo, Phil (2010-6-18). Unemployment Rates by State: Nevada Overtakes Michigan for Nation’s Worst. The Wall Street Journal. Retrieved on 2010-6-21.].

Georgia comes in at 10.2% unemployed.

With numbers like these, jobs remains the issue for candidates seeking public office this year. And it goes without saying that a candidate who seizes the jobs platform stands a good chance of getting elected in November.
