Decatur Attorney To Run For Adelman State Senate Seat

With state Sen. David Adelman (D - Atlanta) nominated as President Obama's Ambassador to Singapore, there's been a certain amount of speculation over who will run to fill the remainder of Adelman's term in the Georgia Senate.

One person, Jason Carter, has already announced his intentions to run and launched a campaign web site. Carter, who is former President Jimmy Carter's grandson, generated a lot of intrigue with his candidacy as political observers are interested in seeing how the grandson of a former Georgia Governor will fare on the ballot.

Jason Carter isn't the only person running in the 42nd Senate district though.

Decatur attorney Tom Stubbs has filed paperwork with the State Ethics Commission to begin raising money for his state Senate bid. Stubbs, you may remember, ran for DeKalb County Superior Court Judge in 2008 against Linda Warren Hunter.

Stubbs says he'll run once Adelman's nomination is confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
