Gingrey, Price & GOP Doctors Caucus Hosting Health Care Hearing Thursday

Did you know that of Georgia's thirteen U.S. Representatives, four are doctors?

That's right. Congressmen Paul Broun, Phil Gingrey, John Linder and Tom Price all hold medical degrees. And they are all members of the GOP Doctors Caucus.

Formed in 2009, the Republican Doctors Caucus says that one of its goals is to "discuss solutions to improve access to quality health care in the United States."

Thursday, the GOP Doctors Caucus will host a hearing on the House and Senate health care bills now being negotiated by Democratic Leadership. The Republican group of doctors says that their hearing is currently the only, public open hearing on the final health care reform legislation.

According to a news release, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius have been invited to testify about the current health care negotiations.

The GOP Doctors Caucus is Co-Chaired by Congressmen Tim Murphy and Phil Gingrey.
