Georgia House Speaker Introduces Hawks Rules Change

Tuesday, House Speaker David Ralston introduced House Resolution 1168; a bill that will formally abolish the "Hawks" from the Georgia House of Representatives.

Ralston campaigned on a pledge of killing the Hawks; legislators that served as ex-officio members of every committee who could swoop in and vote as directed by the Speaker. The Hawks were instituted under the Speakership of Glenn Richardson.

H.R.1168 passed the House Rules Committee, and is currently awaiting debate and a vote on the House floor.
