Secretary of State Candidate Takes Campaign To Albany

Meet Michael Mills.

According to his campaign profile, Mills served as a legislative aide to former Secretary of State Lewis Massey before working on Mark Taylor's bid for Lt. Governor in 1998.

Michael Mills is seeking to re-claim the Secretary of State's office for the Democratic Party. However, he faces a growing field of candidates in his Party's primary that includes the 2006 Secretary of State nominee.

With the Democratic primary less than a year away, Mills is already touring the state sharing his ideas for an office that manages Georgia's elections, corporations and a host of other duties that make the job one of the most important in the state.

Democratic candidate for Secretary of State Michael Mills says right now that office focuses too much on administration. He says he wants to fight for voters rights, but he also wants to empower businesses to succeed. Mills said he plans to "create a one-stop shop on the web site where there is literally a portal that not only allows you to register your business, but links you to the vital resources . . . chambers of commerce like here in Albany, banks that can provide capital, peer to peer resources that can help you grow."
