Former State Senator Mounting Another Bid For Congress

No, not Donzella James (although I wouldn't put it past her to run for Congress in 2010 just a few short months after regaining her state Senate seat).

The former state Senator making another run for the U.S. House of Representatives is Savannah Democrat Regina Thomas.

Former state Sen. Regina Thomas on Thursday launched her second bid for the Democratic nomination in the 12th Congressional District.

"I'm ready to give you a choice," she said. "You can keep what you have if you are satisfied with what you have. Or you can vote for someone with a proven record of doing what they say. My audio does match my video."

In 2008, Thomas made an unsuccessful attempt at wresting the Democratic nomination from incumbent John Barrow.

She ended up losing the primary by fifty-three points.
