"I can’t be looking cute in khakis."
Those are the words of Jonesboro High School sophomore Taylor Boyd as quoted in the Atlanta Journal Constitution article "Students: School dress policy ‘not cute’". Boyd also told the AJC that "Clayton County schools’ new uniform dress policy will make it a lot harder to get a date in school."
The words of Jonesboro High student epitomizes the pisspoor state of the Clayton County School System. The students think that school is a place to show off their clothes and get dates for the weekend, and the school administrators think that mandating school uniforms will help promote stronger academics and a safer campus.
Someone should tell them they're both wrong.
