Perry McGuire Endorses Mike Sheffield In Court of Appeals Run-Off

On November 4th, Perry McGuire finished sixth in a crowded field of seven candidates seeking an open seat on the Georgia Court of Appeals. Today, in an email to supporters, the former candidate endorsed Mike Sheffield as the candidate who's "committed to interpreting the laws as written and not re-writing them from the bench."

"I’m proud to endorse Mike Sheffield as a candidate, friend and fellow strict constructionist. Mike is an honorable family man, talented lawyer, and committed constitutionalist who will serve the people of Georgia with fair, capable judgment," McGuire's email read. "Mike Sheffield’s humility and faith will strengthen his commitment to impartially dispensing justice at a time when the appeals courts of this state are handling more cases with fewer resources than ever."

Sheffield, who came in second with 20.9% of the vote, faces Sara Doyle in the December 2nd run-off to determine who will fill the Court of Appeals vacancy created when Judge John H. Ruffin, Jr. stepped down from the bench.

Doyle finished first in last week's General Election with 22.5% of the vote.
