The Associated Press is reporting that former Georgia Governor Roy Barnes, who earned the ire of many educators throughout the state with his education reforms, may be on President-elect Obama's short list for Secretary of Education [Source: Associated Press, "Obama weighs names for top posts", November 24, 2008].
Former Gov. Barnes told the Marietta Daily Journal that he was "honored to be mentioned" for the job.
"I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t talked to anyone, but I feel honored to be mentioned," Barnes said.
