Max Cleland Goes To Bat For Bobby Saxon

A reader going by the name "Middle Georgia Democrat" points us to an email sent out to supporters of 10th congressional district Democrat Bobby Saxon by former U.S. Senator Max Cleland.

The email with the subject header, "Help me send my friend Bobby Saxon to Congress", calls Saxon a "true patriot and a leader who I know will stand up for the people of the 10th District."

"We have a clear choice in this election. On the one hand, we have Bobby Saxon. Bobby put his life on hold after September 11, 2001 to go fight for his country. Bobby is a man that doesn’t shy away from danger or a challenge," the email reads. "He is the kind of man that we need in Congress. The kind that will fight for people’s rights, stand up for the voiceless, and go toe to toe with those that want to destroy our country."

The email message also asks for a contribution to Bobby Saxon's congressional campaign.

Most political pundits say Saxon has little chance in the overwhelmingly Republican district, but the Democrat's campaign received a boost recently when it was endorsed by the Athens Banner-Herald.
