The national, left-leaning blog DailyKos is out with a new poll showing the U.S. Senate race between Democrat Jim Martin and Republican Saxby Chambliss essentially tied with Martin trailing Chambliss by just one point [Source: DailyKos.com, "GA-Sen: Holy crap, it is tied!", October 7, 2008].
If the election for U.S. Senate were held today, would you vote for Jim Martin the Democrat or Saxby Chambliss the Republican?
Saxby Chambliss (R) - 45%
Jim Martin (D) - 44%
Other - 4%
Undecided - 7%
The poll was conducted by Research 2000, a firm that's been utilized in the past by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and the Concord (NH) Monitor.
This is the second poll within the last week that has shown Jim Martin tightening the race with Saxby Chambliss.
