Voter Registration Up In Republican-heavy Colquitt County

In 2006, 2004, and 2002, Colquitt County posted some high numbers for the Republican candidates on the ballot registering 59.3%, 70.7%, and 63.8% for the GOP in each of the past three election cycles. If history is any guide, come November, Colquitt County will once again swing heavily for the Republicans.

That's why GOP strategists have got to be pleased with the news reports that Colquitt County elections officials are seeing an increase in the number of people on their voter rolls.

Prior to a get-out-the-vote push, Colquitt County election officials have seen voter rolls grow by more than 600 ahead of the November election.

Between March 1 and September, 608 voters were added to the rolls, [Colquitt County Voter Registrat Paula McCullough]said, and more have come in since the Sept. 1 report was completed.
