SurveyUSA Poll: McCain & Chambliss Hold Big Leads

In an email sent out to Georgia Democrats yesterday, the Obama campaign's Georgia state director, Antwaun Griffin, wrote, "Georgia is still very much a battleground state."

Unfortunately for the Obama campaign, the newest public opinion poll conducted in the Peach State says the exact opposite.

SurveyUSA is out with new numbers that show John McCain with a strong lead over Barack Obama in Georgia.

If the election for President were today, would you vote for, Republican John McCain, or, Democrat Barack Obama?

John McCain - 57%
Barack Obama - 41%
Other - 1%
Undecided - 1%

The number two candidate on the Georgia Democratic ticket, Jim Martin, also trails his Republican opponent by a wide margin.

If the election for United States Senator were today, would you vote for, Republican Saxby Chambliss? Democrat Jim Martin? Or Libertarian Allen Buckley?

Saxby Chambliss - 53%
Jim Martin - 36%
Allen Buckley - 8%
Undecided - 3%
