State Sen. Vincent Fort "Distressed" At Fulton Co. Superior Court Candidate

Atlanta Attorney Patrise Hoooker, one of eight candidates vying to replace Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings-Moore on the Fulton County Superior Court, has run into some trouble with Georgia state Sen. Vincent Fort (D - Atlanta) concerning Hooker's use of his name on her website and other campaign materials including a September 12th fundraising letter.

In an email sent to Hooker and her opponents, Fort asked for his name to be removed from the Patrise Hooker for Judge campaign website and any other campaign material.

Below is the text of Fort's email:

Ms. Perkins-Hooker,

I am distressed that my name is on your website as a supporter of yours in the Fulton County Superior Court election. I am further distressed that my name appears on a September 12, 2008 letter solicit funds for your campaign.

I have not given you permission to use my name as a supporter. I am concerned that a person running for a judicial seat would use a name in this way without permission. Indeed I wonder how many people on your list of supporters likewise did not give permission for the use of their names.

Therefore, I am asking you to take my name off of your website, letterhead, and any other campaign material.

Senator Vincent D. Fort

On her website, Patrise Hooker also lists state Rep. Stacey Abrams, Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall and Fulton County Commission Chair John Eaves as supporters of her campaign.
