Howard Dean Says Democrats Have Really Strong Values

Earlier this afternoon, the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Howard Dean hosted a barbeque with a handful of bloggers credentialed to cover the historic 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Gov. Dean sat down and enjoyed a plate of barbequed pork, corn on the cob, and a brownie as he answered questions about the 50-state strategy and how Democrats can win in areas traditionally ceded to the Republican Party such as Georgia, Nebraska and North Dakota.

"The damage the Republicans did to us when we weren't showing up in all those states was not 'our values are bad'...the damage was we didn't have any values," Dean said. "We have really strong values. If people knew what our values were and why we believe what we believe, they wouldn't have any trouble voting for us."

Gov. Dean went on to say that the talk of a divide among Democrats at their convention was nothing but media hype by the spinmeisters at Fox and CNN.
