Georgia Congressman Calls Biden A "Stalwart Leader On International Affairs"

Congressman David Scott made the following statement about Senator Barack Obama's selection of a running mate:

"I commend Senator Obama for selecting Senator Joe Biden as his candidate for Vice President of the United States. Senator Biden is a stalwart leader on international affairs and a strong man of character," Congressman Scott said. "As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I have worked with Senator Biden on several important issues facing the world and have found him to be one of the most knowledgeable leaders on the international stage. Senator Obama is to be commended for taking the time to pick a running mate who will help restore America's reputation in the world. I look forward to an exciting Democratic Convention in Denver."

In addition to both serving on their respective committees on foreign affairs, Congressman Scott and Senator Biden also share the town of Scranton, PA in common. Both men lived there during their elementary school years.
