Former Head of Georgia Republican Party Named RNC Rules Committee Chair

Former state Republican Party chair Alec Poitevint has been tapped to head up the Rules Committee at the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul this September.

Poitevint currently serves as a member of the Republican National Committee from the state of Georgia.

Prior to the Republican Convention, the Rules Committee will meet to review the standing rules of the Republican Party, including the GOP's delegate selection process, and make recommendations to the delegates assembled on any changes to the Party's rules.

The Republican National Committee also announced that House Minority Leader John Boehner (R - Ohio) will serve as the permanent chair of the convention.
