Obama Has 20 Paid Georgia Staffers; McCain, None [UPDATED]

[UPDATE]: An email from the Obama camp says that this Saturday, August 2nd, they're opening a total of six campaign offices across the state including locations such as Athens, Albany and Valdosta. is out with an article that continues to highlight what appears to be Georgia's first big piece of presidential campaign pie in about sixteen years.

To appreciate the aggressiveness of Obama’s operation it’s worth taking a closer look at the jockeying in Georgia.

Last month, more than 20 paid Obama staffers were toiling away in the back conference room of a partially renovated law office in downtown Atlanta.

Since June 20, [Obama's] aired $1.6 million in positive, biographical advertisements on Georgia stations, according to Evan Tracey, founder of the Campaign Media Analysis Group.

Depending on which pollster you believe, Obama is either getting beat handily in Georgia or is set to pull off an upset in November.

One thing is clear though. The enthusiasm level for Sen. Obama's presidential aspirations in just the metro Atlanta area is through the roof. There isn't a day that goes by that includes me not seeing an Obama t-shirt, hat, or pin.
