The Reviews Are In...2008 Session A Failure

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.

In newspapers across Georgia today, the editorial pages were lit up with harsh evaluations of the now completed 2008 legislative session.

The Athens Banner-Herald says the "General Assembly was disappointing". In the Macon Telegraph, the '08 session was called a "waste of time, money, lives". The Savannah Morning News is calling for House Speaker Glenn Richardson's ouster. Prominent conservative columnist and AJC Associate Editorial Page Editor Jim Wooten says that the "State's leaders don't deliver".

And finally, state Democratic Party chair Jane Kidd offers voters a choice in November; "a party that fights its own internal power struggles, versus a party that offers mature, tested leadership based on the values that Georgia holds dear: fiscal responsibility, world-class schools and an economy that works for working people."

I know which choice I'm making.
