Obama in Atlanta for small & large donor fundraiser

On August 31st, the AJC's Political Insider reported that U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) would be in Atlanta on September 20th (which is this Thursday) for a $25 a head fundraiser. (FYI, I was invited to attend Thursday's event as part of the "Blogger's Table" by Congressman Hank Johnson's office)

Later that evening, Obama will hold a smaller, more intimate fundraiser where the cost is $1,000 a pop. Here's the invite that was e-mailed to me today:

It's funny. U.S. Reps. Sanford Bishop, Hank Johnson, recording artist Usher, and former Atlanta Hawks great Dominique Wilkins are all listed as "co-chairs" on the invite. I think it's important to note that both Hank Johnson and Sanford Bishop were named as co-chairs of the Obama campaign in Georgia. I'm wondering if Usher and Dominique are also serving as co-chairs of the Georgia Obama campaign.

Something else to note is the name of Marianne Spraggins on the co-hosts list. Marianne Spraggins is an at-large member of the Democratic National Committee from Georgia.

Has she chosen sides?

It sure seems like it.
