Could Atlanta host the 2008 Democratic National Convention?

On November 4th, DNC Chair Howard Dean announced the dates of the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

"I’m pleased to announce that the 2008 Democratic National Convention will be held in late August 2008," said DNC Chairman Howard Dean. "I look forward to joining with Democrats from across the country August 25-28th, as we gather to formally nominate our 2008 Presidential ticket."

I think Atlanta should host this convention.

Think about it for a sec.

Howard Dean campaigned for the Chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee on a platform of "showing up" in all 50 states, so what would send a better message to the American people than Democrats holding their national convention in the Deep South (which, in recent years, has become Republican central).

I mean it would show that the Democratic Party, nationally, isn't going to ignore the South like it did in 2000 & 2004.

I think it could happen and I think it should happen.

What do you think?

Hopefully, I'm not the only Georgia Democrat that's thinking that this could happen.
